A trusted roofing expert is a roofer whose promises hold up when you check them: a license you can look up, insurance papers you can see, manufacturer credentials listed by the manufacturer, reviews you can read and a warranty in writing. This page shows how to check those things with any roofer, and then sets out, in our own words, why NEMA Roofing calls itself the country’s most trusted roofing expert. For a roof question or a free inspection, call NEMA Roofing at 866-631-3366.
Which roofer claims can you check, and where?
| Claim | Can you check it? | Where |
|---|---|---|
| “Licensed” | Yes | The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) license lookup |
| “Insured” | Yes, with papers | Workers’ compensation shows on the CSLB record; for liability cover, ask for a certificate of insurance |
| Manufacturer certification | Yes | The manufacturer’s own contractor directory |
| Star rating and review count | Yes | The named platform, read directly |
| Warranty | Yes, on paper | The written terms in your contract, and the registration for a manufacturer warranty |
| Price, free inspection, no hidden charges | Yes, on paper | The written estimate and the contract |
How do you check a roofer’s license?
California requires every contractor advertisement, from a website to a truck door, to show the state license number. Type the number into the CSLB lookup and read four things: whether the license is current and active, the classification (C-39 is roofing), whether the business name matches the company you are talking to, and the complaint disclosure section. The record also lists the address of record, so you know where to reach the business after the job.
Which insurance papers should a roofer show you?
Two policies matter on a roof. Workers’ compensation covers the crew: the CSLB notes that a homeowner could be liable if an uninsured worker is hurt on the property, and California requires contractors with employees to carry it. General liability covers damage to your home; the state does not require it, so the CSLB suggests asking for a certificate of insurance or the carrier’s name and confirming the policy yourself. Our guide on what to look for in a roofing contractor goes further into coverage.
How do you verify manufacturer credentials and warranties?
Shingle and membrane makers run contractor programs in tiers and publish who belongs, so search the manufacturer’s contractor finder for the company name rather than trusting a logo. The tier matters because some enhanced manufacturer warranties can only be registered by contractors in the top tiers. A roof usually carries two warranties: the manufacturer’s, on the materials, and the contractor’s, on the workmanship. Ask for both in writing, with who issues each, what it covers, how long it runs, whether it transfers to a buyer and what voids it.
Promises that belong in the estimate and contract
No hidden charges, a free inspection, permits handled by the roofer: good promises are easy to put in writing, so ask any roofer, us included, to write them into the estimate and contract.
California’s home improvement contract rules set what the contract must contain and cap the down payment at a small share of the price. Check that the estimate names the materials, the tear-off, the permit and its fees, the cleanup and a payment schedule tied to finished work. The page on what to expect from a roofing company walks through each document, and how to vet a roofing company covers references and past jobs.
Why NEMA Roofing is the country’s most trusted roofing expert
Serving in the industry for years, we understand what you want and what you need, and we carry it out to satisfy you completely. At NEMA Roofing, there is no chance of overcharging, a compromise in performance and quality, or a finished roof that differs from the design or plan you approved. After thousands of successful installation and repair projects, we have risen as one of the best roofing experts in the country. These are the key factors that make us claim that NEMA Roofing is the country’s most trusted roofing expert:
- Local experts. A local contractor understands your needs and provides the roofing services best suited to your neighborhood, and local teams of experts let NEMA Roofing meet the standards and regulations set by the authorities.
- Trained and certified professionals. We have a team of top roofing experts trained to install and repair any roof and to provide optimum-performing solutions for your property. When we hire a technician, we do a complete screening and background check and test them on smaller projects as assistants, and we organize frequent training to refresh their skills and update them on new practices and tools.
- Specialized teams. Commercial and residential roofs each have their own technicalities and need their own work plans, so we have specialized teams of commercial and residential roofing technicians who handle the tasks brilliantly.
- Eco-friendly practices. In repairs and installations alike, we look for greener solutions: we encourage clients to install solar panels on their roofs or to reuse existing material, and we install components that are recyclable and reusable. With proper insulation and roof layering, we deliver more energy-efficient buildings that benefit both the owner and the environment.
- Latest tools and technology. We have the latest tools and equipment to complete roofing jobs faster and with extreme precision, so you do not have to put your schedule on hold for roof repairs.
- Emergency services. Leaks and roof emergencies can happen at any time, and we have an emergency customer response team to help with emergency repairs and protect your belongings and property.
- Permits and paperwork. You do not have to deal with permits from the authorities yourself: our team handles all the paperwork while we repair your roof.
- Safe for your health and property. For roof cleaning, repairs and insulation, we use toxic-free products that are safe for your health and do not damage your building, and we avoid paints and materials with harsh chemicals that could affect the health of residents.
- Cleanup and guarantee. All our procedures are mess-free, and we provide comprehensive insurance for any loss or damage to your property during the job. We also provide cleanup and after-work inspections, and we offer a warranty for all our repairs.
- Free consultations and inspections. Whether you hire us or not, there is no harm in a consultation or a quote after an inspection of your roof. At NEMA Roofing, consultations and inspections are free of charge, so you get input and suggestions from experts without any fees.
- Budget-friendly services. We give additional services and the best value for money. There are no hidden charges or taxes in the final bill, and you won’t find roofing services at this price anywhere.
- A wide array of services. From roof repairs to painting, insulation or a new roof, there is no roof-related service you won’t find at NEMA Roofing. This is another plus point that makes us lead all other roofing experts in the country: we are one solution to all your roofing problems.
